Save Botta's Blog

Today is a sad day for many Islander fans. Over the past year, we have been treated to some of the very best insight a fan could ever ask for. Former Islander PR man, Chris Botta, had given us a look into the inner workings of our Organization. He had given us info that no fan for any team in the history of sports was offered. He did it with passion exuberated by only the greatest of fans. He had built up a community where we, as fans, visited on a daily, hourly, sometimes constant basis. We can not let Mr. Botta go without a fight.

We Islander fans are a force. From Alexei Yashin's buyout to Kate Murray's 180, we have made our voices heard. We need to do something.

While many of us have reached out to the Islanders Organization, it is a business decision that may not make sense to the team at this point. We need to do something else. We need to keep this alive.

In an effort to prove to CB that his loyal visitors want to keep him around, I've made some calls.

To be as transparent as possible, I have reached out to CB and have told him about my plan and will be sharing with him all the information that may help keep Point Blank around.

It's up to you, loyal PointBlank fans to help out. As CB has mentioned, a subscription model WILL NOT WORK. When it's time to pay, many lose interest. We need something else.

I am currently working with a handful of advertisers to create some targeted ads for Point Blank readers. Because of the situation and the haste in creating the site, one advertiser that was up earlier pulled there ad based on demographic targeting. We will be back with more soon.
